Waterwerx mission is to promote and support sustainable resource management, particularly water and energy, to Australian industrial and municipal clients through access to advanced research and technology products sourced from leading global vendors.
In the field of water treatment, wherever possible we aim to reduce the use of chemicals by the application of physical processes, advanced oxidation, and membrane separation technologies. By not continually adding to the chemical load of water, the opportunities for reuse are increased.
In distributed power generation we promote the use of low emission gas or biogas fuelled micro-turbines installed as part of a cogeneration facility located on site. By recapturing the heat produced in the low emission exhaust from turbine combustion and using this energy for heating or cooling purposes (via a direct fired absorption chiller) clients can achieve energy efficiencies approaching 80%.
Waterwerx is not necessarily being a "green" campaigner – sustainable resource management implies an economic as well as environmental benefit. We don’t believe in the adoption of technology for its own sake, for without an economic imperative there is no sustainability. Our aim is to provide solutions that satisfy the needs of all stakeholders and to demonstrate that these requirements need not be mutually exclusive.
